چکیده

SASAI, Y. Lactic Dehydrogenase Activity in Human Epidermis: Semiquantita tive Histochemical Study. Tohoku J. exp. Med ., 1972, 108 (4), 327-336 The graphical method of Lineweaver-Burk to the histoehemical system was applied to obtain quantitative information on the lactic dehydrogenase activity in human epidermis. In vitro experiment showed that the incubation time necessary for yielding a certain amount of formazan is related to the amount of enzyme present. In the case of section experiment, the time required for the first appearance of formazan deposition in the tissue at various substrate concentra tions was plotted against the reciprocal of the substrate concentration. This technique made it possible to compare the lactic dehydrogenase activities at various sites of the tissue. lactic dehydrogenase; human epidermis; semiquantitative histochemistry

A histochemical study on hydrolytic and oxidative enzymes in human sarcomas.

Histochemical evaluations of human sarcomas such as reticulum cell sarcoma, fibrosarcoma, lymphosarcoma and neurofibrosarcoma, were carried out with five hydrolytic enzymes and eight oxidative enzymes. The activities of acid phosphatase and beta-glucuronidase were slightly positive in the neoplastic cells observed. Beta-esterase activity was also positive but varied according to the kind of sar...

The Effect of Endosulfan on Lactic Dehydrogenase Enzyme System in Liver of Mus Musculus : a Histochemical Study

Aim: Endosulfan is an important toxic agent which generates free oxygen radicals in liver. In Çukurova region, some relation between the incidence of toxic injury to liver and widespread use of endosulfan has been suggested. Since endosulfan is a frequently used pesticide, it was planned to investigate whether endosulfan could do liver injury and increase lactic dehydrogenase in liver. Methods:...

Cardiac hypertrophy in spontaneously hypertensive rats.

The energy metabolism of cardiac hypertrophy in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) was studied chronologically by histochemical and in part chemical methods. The activities of various enzymes, such as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), isocitrate dehydrogenase, succinate dehydrogenase, beta-hydroxybutylate dehydrogenase (beta-HBDH) and monoamine oxidase (...

Developmental Histochemistry of the Rat Eye.

A study of the development of the rat eye was undertaken loith the histochemical demonstration of five oxidative enzymes to correlate patterns of oxidative enzyme activity with morphologic development. Succinic dehydrogenase, TPN and DPN diaphorase and two DPNdependent enzymes, malic and lactic dehydrogenase, were demonstrated, and the histochemical patterns were examined in relation to the sta...
